  • Winners Announced On: April 2, 2022
  • Winners are asked to be present at the awards ceremony on Friday April 8, 2022.
  • By submitting you are agreeing to publication on Social Justice Week materials and platforms.

Staff Award: Justice Awareness Award

  • Contest: A staff member who actively participates in raising awareness about social justice issues, and taking action to further social justice in the Sonoma State community.
  • Criteria: Nominee must be a current SSU staff member.

Student Award: Seawolf Commitment Award

  • Contest: A student who has demonstrated their commitment to making our school, community, and world, more equitable for all individuals. This student has demonstrated that they are committed to enriching the lives of the SSU community and is a person that embodies the Seawolf Commitment and Social Justice Week values.
  • Criteria: Nominee must be a current SSU student.

  • Contest: An alumnus whose social justice work contributed to making community, and world, more equitable for all individuals.
  • Criteria: Nominee must be an SSU graduate.

Contest: Logo Design

  • Contest: Create a logo that reflects Social Justice Week’s mission statement and vision statement.
  • Criteria: Most creative reflection of themes listed in mission statement and vision statement. Most use-able and interpret-able for people unfamiliar with the event.

Contest: Video Essay

  • Contest: Submit a video essay up to sixty seconds inspired by Social Justice Week’s mission statement and vision statement. Can be a TikTok or Instagram reel, or other video in a format that can be embedded on the Social Justice Week website.
  • Criteria: Most creative reflection to communicate and advance the values and the themes listed in mission statement and vision statement.
